They do an incredible job 24/7/365

I hope in the new world, we all come to appreciate exactly how important the role they play in society

Thanks One Iron. My wife works at Queens Romford and is working tomorrow and expecting things to be pretty tough from what she has heard. The general public still do not really realise the full extent of this but hopefully they are starting to do so.

Re: Thank you all nhs staff
I have just spent a month in Southend University Hospital with double pneumonia. The treatment and dedication I received from everybody there was second to none and we all should be rightly proud of all the staff and our wonderful health service.

Well said One Iron.

Thanks to all NHS staff and subbies working there too (eg cleaners, porters, catering etc).

Chance to show thanks and recognition.

Sold, are you going to work on the NHS Tiger tanks :-)

Re: Thank you all nhs staff
Super sentiments. But bizarre.

If I clap on doorstep, no one will hear but increasingly stressed neighbours. And I'll look insane.

If I go to hospital so staff can hear, police will tell me to fuck of home.

Next?

Soldo well done mate. If you ask your mates to help as well, we won't need the 250,000 volunteers

Re: Thank you all nhs staff
Synchronized pre organised clapping to show appreciation?

Blimey how the English have changed.

When I was a kid I think 99% of people would have found this to be toe curlingly embarrassing.

A rousing chorus of "For all their jolly good fellows'" and a "hip hip HOORAY" when this is all done with would have sufficed.

Pre ordained time to have a clap? What's happened to us?

Not slating the NHS staff by the way, they have done wonders for my family.

Oh yes. Mrs Bungo has today volunteered to go to work at the Excel temporary hospital if needed.

The idea is that each London Trust sends a few nurses. Good on all of them.

Re: Thank you all nhs staff
We're all indebted, and well done to all volunteers. I would have got involved but I've had a chest infection for 18 months that antibiotics can't shift, not going to the GP with what's going on as my arsehole started twitching.

Re: Thank you all nhs staff
Will never forget they saved my sons life when born premature at 2lbs, had to sedate him on a ventilator in intensive care, wasn't sure he would pull through at one point, most didn't in the ward he was in at Kings College Denmark Hill.

NHS paramedic here.....thanks for all the thanks

Cash, cheques, book tokens & slabs of beer all appreciated too :-)

People have been noticeably nicer to us all recently.....many more waving, smiling and giving us thumbs up
And we got back to the ambulance station yesterday to find a big bag of fudge left for us by a local fudge shop.....yum yum
